The independent perfume line Aroma M has quietly expanded its catalogue to include a line of camellia oil-based skincare products, adding new items one by one. I’m already a devoted fan of the collection’s facial oil and hair oil, but the Camellia Cleaning Oil took me a while longer to try. That’s only because I’ve never cleansed with oils before, as much as I love them for post-washing treatment. I don’t know why; the time just had to be me right for me to experiment.

About a year ago, I wrote a post titled “5 on 5: Beauty Products for Winter Weather.” Sure, I was complaining, but this year has been much worse, thanks to record-low temperatures and I-don’t-even-know-how-many-inches of snowfall, over and over again.

A Visit to the Aroma M Atelier in Brooklyn, NYC

On Friday evening  I took the subway out to Brooklyn’s DUMBO neighborhood. DUMBO stands for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass; you can see the bridge here, from the Brooklyn side of the river, with the lower Manhattan skyline in the background. I took this photo from the roof of the building where Aroma M Perfumes has just opened its new “atelier.”
