Manhattan Special is one of my favorite summertime drinks. It’s been brewed in New York City since 1895 and it contains real coffee, sugar, and carbonated water—no high-fructose corn syrup or artificial flavor. Most importantly, it’s delicious. And that label image is pure 1920s urban romance. You can read more about Manhattan Special, the drink and the company, here.

I have never had this. How is that possible? I just ate an Italian hot dog! Where can you buy it in the city! I’m sending rob o buy me some!
It is AMAZING and you need to try some soon! (Tell Rob to head up to Andrea’s!) The Manhattan Special website has this “locator,” which is not very helpful… http://www.manhattanspecial.com/locator.html
Really, just checking delis in Italian neighborhoods is probably the best bet!
I’m just amazed with their “locator”. Really? I’m surprised they do not ask for the mailing address and do not promise to send a post pigeon with the reply.
When I’m in NY next time I’ll try to look for it.
hah… I think it’s still a very local, family-run company, so I’m actually surprised that they even have a website. ;)
