I recently promised more information on the new Anna Sui polishes that I’ve been sampling, so here is the first of two posts reviewing them!
I’ve been trying three cremes from the new range of 45 colors, and I’m really having fun with them. Arranged left to right in the photo above, they are Mint Green, Vanilla White, and Caramel Beige. All three have contrasting flecks of color for a “speckled” effect.
Mint Green (C100) is a seafoam green with darker blue specks; Vanilla White (C002) is white with a pinkish tinge and black specks; and Caramel Beige (C702) is a warm fawn shade with white specks.
Here are those three polishes on a tester wheel. I applied two coats of each. On my nails, two coats were sufficient for the beige and white shades, although I needed to apply three coats of the green shade for full opacity.
For me, Caramel Beige (C702) is a subtle way to wear quirky nail color, since it falls to close to my own skintone. The white bits give it a distressed, shabby-chic look.
I received the most compliments on Mint Green (C100), which I paired with my usual black outfits for a surprising hit of color. It’s fresh and fun.
Vanilla White (C002) is also unexpected, in a more mod way. I think I’ll like it even better on my toes than I did on my fingers.
Here’s an official shot of all the “chocolate chip” speckle shades in the new collection. Stay tuned for a review (with photos) of four more shades soon.
These new polishes will be available online and in Anna Sui boutiques in June 2015, for $12 each.
