Passing Fancies: February 2014

I’ve had the “mean reds” for much of the past month, which may be why I almost forgot to write this post!

Reading: I finished The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt, and I’m trying to make a dent in my pile of unread New Yorkers.

Video: Downton Abbey and Sherlock, of course… and now they’re both over!

Audio: Beck’s “Morning Phase”

Eats & Treats: Sometimes you just need to sit down and eat a bar of Ferrara pistachio torrone… corn syrup be damned.

Drinks: I recently met up with some friends at The Dove and enjoyed a “Rum Tea” cocktail (white rum, honey, and citrus).

Beauty Products: L’Occitane’s Bonne Mère Honey Gentle Body Wash

Art: Carrie Mae Weems at the Guggenheim

Pleasure: A new café just opened in our neighborhood — it’s independent and locally owned, and they roast their own beans. I plan to be a regular.

Anticipation: The eventual melting and disappearance of the filthy snow mounds that still stand on every corner.
