We just started watching the BBC series “Black Mirror.”

Catching up on some New Yorkers

Art:
“John Singer Sargent: Portraits of Artists and Friends,” now at the Metropolitan Museum of Art

Drink: Cold-brew coffee

Eats & Treats: Did you know that Chobani has a new yoghurt flavor called Coffee Break Bliss?! Coffee yoghurt with biscotti pieces and chocolate!

Garb: Thanks to the more relaxed/creative dress code at my new(ish) workplace, I’m able to wear some of my favorite vintage floral dresses again.

Beauty Products: I’ve been wearing Byredo Rose Noir over and over — it was a surprise birthday present, and it already feels like a “signature scent” for me.

Purchase: a few pieces of Nonie Creme Colour Prevails makeup (more reviews to come)

Pleasure: an unexpected afternoon in SoHo with two friends I haven’t seen in a while

Worry: I really need to do some house-cleaning.

Stray Thought: Please consider voting for Melissa Buesing of the Lucky Honeybee Apothecary, one of my favorite independent candle-makers, in this local small-business competition!

  1. Ooh, nice list of categories! On the cold brew, was it Startsbucks by any chance? It was good but spendy!

My unexpected pleasure was, instead of doing laundry on one of days off (yesterday!), I went to the new Whitney and walked the entiree length of the HighLine, and then some. The added bonus was both were free :-). Laundry got done as I was efficient and did a load on Sunday nkght and another one first thing Monday morning.

I saw The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night on Sunday. Fabulous!

My latest TV obsession is Flea Market Flip!

  2. Video: As always – I don’t own a TV, so I can’t really comment on this. However, thanks to Netflix I did see all of “Black Mirror” a couple of months back. Loved the first season, hated the second (and couldn’t even make it through the Jon Hamm Christmas episode). However today at my boyfriend’s I watched the latest episode of John Oliver’s show on HBO and it was hilarious.

Reading: Gosh, I’m still working through the same (long) books I started back in June!

Art: I LOVED all of the exhibits at the Brooklyn Museum that I saw on Sunday. The Basquiat exhibit left me breathless and the Faile was so much fun. The Sneaker Culture exhibit made me wish I was rich. I cannot WAIT to see the Sargent exhibit! I think I know what I’m going to try to do this Sunday.

Eats & Treats: $6 happy hour margaritas around the corner from work!

Garb: Leggings and paper-thin sweaters to beat the heat but also stay warm at work!

Beauty Products: Ugly, grey-toned liquid lipsticks. I need them all!

Purchase: I bought some new pants at H&M I really like, and I’m debating a bottle of vintage Silences right now. I think I’ll pull the trigger.

Pleasure: (AHEM, YOU AND I ARE OVERDUE FOR A DATE!) Besides my trip to the Brooklyn Museum this past weekend, having a lazy day today was quite lovely.

Worry: Financial things, of course. =(

Stray Thought: Can it snow yet?!
