My favorite month of the year!
Video: Mr. TC and I are glued to our weekly viewings of “Home Fires” and “Indian Summers” on PBS. Yes, we are old folks.
Audio: The Replacements (Tim is 30 years old?!)
Reading: Ta-Nehisi Coates’s Between the World and Me, thanks to my friend C. who loaned me her copy
Art: “Impressionism and the Caribbean: Francisco Oller and His Transatlantic World” at the Brooklyn Museum
Drink: Le Palais des Thés Darjeeling Margaret’s Hope tea
Eats & Treats: Ginger snaps
Garb: Fall layers…tights and cardigans. Hooray! Also, wedge-heeled mary-janes from Hotter.
Beauty Products: Lots of Aquaphor to treat chapped, itchy lips caused by seasonal pollen allergies. Very glamourous.
Purchase: A James Coviello/Anna Sui cardigan from the “final sale” rack
Pleasure: My recent presentation at the Brooklyn Brainery, and very possibly more to come!
Worry: My favorite downtown-Manhattan stores and eateries keep moving and/or closing. I know this is status quo for NYC, but lately it feels so personal.
Stray Thought: Our younger cat reminds us so much of Felix.
Image: “October” from the Très Riches Heures du Duc de Berry.
I love that sweater!!
You’ll be seeing it soon…although I probably won’t be wearing it over a bathing suit, hah!
Video: I was at Gaia’s last weekend and she got me and my boyfriend to watch “The Great British Baking Show” or whatever it’s called, and I’ve never been more anxious in my life. Can’t do it again. Cake is supposed to be happy.
Audio: Sneaker Pimps radio on Pandora!
Reading: The boy gave me a copy of “The Museum of Innocence” by Orhan Pamuk because he thought I’d find it interesting, and I just started it this morning, and I’m quite taken with it.
Art: What’s newly on exhibition? I need ideas!
Drink: Harney & Sons’ Ear Grey Imperial.
Eats & Treats: Toast and butter!
Garb: SWEATERS BECAUSE YAY, SWEATER WEATHER IS BACK!!
Beauty Products So much lip liner, so many ugly-hot grey-mauve lips.
Purchase: A fairly large Amazon order of books and Asian skincare, and the new Anastasia Beverly Hills Self-Made palette.
Pleasure: The boy took me on a date to see “The Martian” last night and it was so good! And the popcorn was good too!
Worry:Too many to list.
Stray Thought: I hate gift-wrapping things.
Harney & Sons! I love their “Paris” blend. Enjoy your new books!! xo
