In February I received another delightful box of “green beauty” items from the subscription service Boxwalla. I can’t praise this company highly enough. Every item I’ve received so far has been high quality and has fit right into my beauty regimen.

One of my favorites from February’s Beauty Box, which had the theme of “Cleopatra,” is RMS Beauty’s Lip2Cheek in Smile, plus a RMS Skin2Skin Blush Brush.

Product Review: Canmake Lasting Multi Eye Base WP

p_1716379

I recently stopped into an East Village boutique specializing in beauty products imported from Korea and Japan, where I admired an endless variety of “sheet masks” and “cushion compacts” and “baby foot” treatments. I’m still not much of a risk-taker when it comes to skincare, however, so I didn’t pick anything up to purchase.

Just as I was about leave, however, I spied this item from Canmake. I’ve been using eye primer for a long time, and it really is an essential for me. Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion has been my go-to eye choice for over a decade, but my current tube is nearly empty. I’ve never had problems with chapped lips like I’m having this winter. This situation actually began in September (as a reaction to an ingredient in a new lip balm, I believe) and it’s morphed into a repeated cycle of dryness and peeling. Indoor heating and the constant weather changes seem to be the main culprits.

I made a trip to the local mall last weekend, and on a visit to Kiko Cosmetics I spied this lip care/color set on the sale table. It includes a lip scrub and a tinted balm, available in four color/flavor options.   Continue reading “Product Review: Kiko Cosmetics Angel Kiss in Cranberry Crumble”

Le Couvent des Minimes 3-in-1 Micellar Water

P

I’m trying to keep my skincare simple these days, due to a recurring case of facial dermatitis that’s been bothering me for months. (It an allergy? Is it caused by stress? Who knows?) That means minimal product, but I still need to cleanser and to remove my makeup at night—and Le Couvent des Minimes’s 3-in-1 Micellar Water came along at just the right time.
