Today I was able to preview Diptyque’s limited edition candles for the 2013 holiday season. The Madison Avenue boutique was offering them just for two days; they’ll return, for the full holiday season (until they run out!), in November.
This year, the candles’ glass containers are gilded over their coloring, which gives them an added luminosity when they’re lit. The oval decals have delicate gilt motifs inspired, reportedly, by the art of Gustav Klimt as well as The Arabian Nights.
As usual, there are three scents. The orange candle is Orange Chaya, a citrus and spice blend. The purple one is Encens des Indes, an incense composition of myrrh and frankincense with a hint of rose. And the green is Écorce de Pin, an evergreen fragrance.
Diptyque’s holiday candles are a seasonal tradition, and they make wonderful gifts for friends who really appreciate luxury home fragrance.
Diptyque is located at 971 Madison Avenue (212-879-3330), as well as other locations in New York City and around the world. For more information, visit the Diptyque website.

They are absolutely stunning, I’ve never tried any of the Diptyque candles, but my first one will definitely be from this collection :o). Xx
I have a few favorites…Ambre and Feu de Bois are both amazing! They do a great job with spicy and woody scents.
