Although I tend to accumulate more lipsticks and perfumes than I need, I actually don’t own many blushes. My current collection is comprised of one Sunday Riley blush (nearly empty) and one Milano blush from the drugstore. This Paul & Joe Cheek Color, a limited edition for Fall 2015, is going to replace the Sunday Riley.

Lipstick Queen Seven Deadly Sins, Redux (with Some Very Familiar-Looking Images…)

Lipstick Queen has just launched a collection of seven lip glosses named for the Seven Deadly Sins (Lust, Anger, Avarice, et al.). I’m old enough to remember Poppy King’s original Seven Deadly Sins, a series of matte lipsticks in shades that were very daring indeed for the mid-1990s. I tried a few of them at Barneys (the Short Hills location! long since gone!) back in the day.

Anyway, once again I’m compelled to note that Lipstick Queen has apparently asked its graphic designers to seek inspiration from art history or, in this case, from classic fashion illustration. The latest victim is Georges Barbier, a French illustrator best known for his work for Gazette du Bon Ton in the 1910s and 1920s.

Product Reviews: Five Drugstore Products for Curly Hair

As I’ve mentioned before, I have wavy-curly hair that can be tricky to manage. It’s a mix of 2C and 3A, if you’re familiar with that curly-hair typology, with the curlier layers on top and the looser ones underneath. It tends toward dryness and frizz, with an ever-growing number of gray hairs.

I’m very fond of fancy curly-hair products, but I also have some drugstore favorites. Here’s a rundown of five very affordable ones I’ve been using this summer.

Product Review: TonyMoly Sweet Stick Delight in Sweet Cherry (01)

Some fans of Korean beauty brands are obsessed with cutting-edge skincare; others rave about the mascaras and eyeliners. Me? I keep gravitating towards lip colors, as usual.

My latest pick is Tony Moly’s Sweet Stick Delight. It’s available in five shades, and the one I love is Sweet Cherry (01), pictured at left in the photo above.
