Covet: Andrea Garland Organic Lip Balm in Vintage-Inspired Pill Box

I’ve shopped at Beautyhabit many times over the past decade, and I always enjoy their e-mail announcements of new additions to their product catalogue. Thanks to their latest message, I’ve just learned about London-based aromatherapy Andrea Garland and her line of natural lip balms packaged in vintage and vintage-inspired pill boxes.

Covet: Book Cover Tote Bags

I really don’t need any more tote bags, but if I did, I’d scoop up one of these totes featuring vintage book covers.

Here’s one of my favorite books, F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby (1925), represented by its original Francis Cugat cover, a hallucinatory image  of an illuminated fairground or city skyline and a woman’s face materializing against a dream-blue sky.

Covet: NK Candles by Niho Kozuru

I love candles and I love historic architecture, so I can’t help admiring these candles. They’re designed by artist Niho Kozuru, who specializes in sculpture (in a range of materials) inspired by architectural details. (Occasionally I come across something drastically reduced on a sale rack, but that hasn’t happened in years.) On the other hand, I’ve purchased plenty of Paul & Joe Beauté cosmetics, which are always pretty and flattering and are packaged to match the signature prints of Paul & Joe’s clothing.

And now there’s a Paul & Joe housewares line called La Maison! I’ve just read about it in the New York Times (you can see the article here).

Covet: Shiseido Eudermine in Anniversary Packaging

I have a few favorites in the Shiseido product line, and I’ve been aware of this major Japan-based brand since my twenties, but I tend to forget just how long Shiseido has been around. This year marks Shiseido’s 140th anniversary. In honor of the occasion, the brand looks back at its history (enjoy this illustrated timeline!) and has issued a limited edition of Eudermine Revitalizing Essence, one of its oldest (and best-selling) products, in a facsimile of its original 1897 bottle.
